Chromebook Checkout Sites and Schedule:
Chromebook checkout will occur on Wednesday, 3/18 for anyone in need of a device. Please note that many students will not need to checkout a Chromebook as all of our online/virtual resources will be available through any personal computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone. If your child needs a device to access online/virtual resources, checkout will occur at every HSD school at the below times. To checkout a device, a student simply needs to provide their name and school. We will also ask each person if they also need Wi-Fi internet services as we continue to narrow options for providing forthcoming hotspots to students in need of internet access. Please know that Chromebook devices will be internet ready should you already have Wi-Fi access. Chromebooks have been cleaned, sanitized and bagged for personal use.
Chromebook Checkout Schedule: Wednesday, March 18
Tomorrow, you will receive additional information pertaining to remote learning for your child/children. Our virtual/online environment will utilize Clever as a single sign-on portal to available educational resources. Complete directions will be included in tomorrow’s update. Additionally, along with many generous offers during this time of crisis, Charter Communications is offering free Spectrum broadband and Wi-Fi access for 60 days to households with K-12 and/or college students who do not already have a Spectrum broadband subscription and at any service level up to 100 Mbps. This is just one of many thoughtful and helpful ways our community and nation can pull together in support of one another during this challenging time.
